Bravo Donatella!

So men's fashion week for Spring 2011 is underway in Milan.  While flipping through new  menswear from Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, and Moncler, I stumbled upon Donatella Versace's Resort 2011 collection, and did it ever make me salivate!  We cannot forget that Resort is turning into a very important fashion season itself.
Donatella has always been a master of sleek dressing for a Bond girl, and this resort collection leaves you begging for more.  Think Orbitz Gum girl jetting off to Italy to clean  another "dirty mouth."  (BTW, did anyone notice they replaced the Orbitz Gum girl?)  Donatella's spot-on model choice of Ginta Lapina fully embodies this sexiness.  And those high-caged sandals...simply delicious!

Airport Fashion: Where do we get "Runway" from?

So I was having my morning orange juice watching some "Today" with Hoda and Kathie Lee, and their guest style expert, Derek Blasberg touched on something that I have been proclaiming for years: Dress well for the airport!  I can't tell you how many times I have been flying across this beautiful country of ours and have been appalled and what people are wearing to fly in.  It used to be people would dress up for flying.  So when on earth did it become okay for us to wear sweatpants and and ripped John Deere t-shirts on the jetway?!  No thanks to Juicy or Ed Hardy, I'm sure of that.  I completely understand that we all want to be comfortable on those LONG excursions from LA to NYC or Des Moines to Moline, but it is never appropriate for any of us to be going out in public in our pajamas.  Why not a pair of light wool trousers or a premium denim with a fitted-tee?  A plaid button down?  Get chilly on flights?  A retro chic Member's only jacket or a tailored blazer will do the trick.  I love a poncho on a woman when flying, or a gentleman in fitted grey slacks and a V-neck with a fedora or aviators.  The Beckham's are the king and queen of good airport fashion, but also check out Kate Beckinsale, Vanessa Hudgens, and Daisy Fuentes.  It doesn't take a lot of work to look put together when flying.  People watching at LAX is spectacular, but also remember that people are watching YOU as well.  You never know who you are going to meet at the airport bar, why not dress up for it?
